Sandberg Development Graduate Program

Congratulations! Sandberg Development Graduate Program gathers talent – and you have landed a spot! My name is Hans Knutsson and I will be your guide and tutor during the entire program. I represent EFL, Executive Foundation in Lund. EFL is an organization closely related to the Lund University School of Economics and Management and organizes this program.

You have an exciting year ahead of you and there will be two main tasks waiting for you. On one hand, some of you are entering a position in Sandberg Development, some of you will work in Sandberg’s subsidiaries. On the other hand, you will attend this graduate program. The program aims at preparing you for your continued development within Sandberg Development and what you will be learning in the program is directly applicable to what the company as a whole aspires to.

Overall program structure

The program starts September 8 and closes in August next year. During that year, you will attend eleven different workshops, visit a number of Sandberg-owned sites and work on different projects together with your graduate peers. Throughout the program you will be reading books before each workshop and you will keep a learning journal. You will also have tutoring sessions with me.

Program schedule

Going clockwise, here you can see how the program unfolds. The white posts are workshops, the yellow ones are special events, and the red one is a two-day business simulation game you will play together with your mentor and other colleagues from the company.

For each workshop, there is a tab to your left which holds more information about each respective workshop. You have access to every workshop from the start, however there is likely to be slight modifications when we are approaching the different workshops. On each tab, you also find two separate assignments. These are at the core of the pedagogical design.

Pedagogical design

The program revolves around the workshops. Before each workshop (…except for the agile workshop on September 23 – this one is a continuation of the one on the 22nd), you do a pre-assignment. That is, you read a book and share your thoughts about the book with me. After each workshop, two things happen. First, you do a post-assignment by entering a post in your learning journal. The learning journal is also shared with me. The workshop and the pre- and post-assignments are the basis for our “tutoring-talk. The dotted line at the bottom indicates your agile graduate project. This part will be introduced on September 23 in our workshop on agile project management.
